Hello, Roanoke Music School Families,
February has been full of focus and momentum inside our lesson rooms. Even in the quieter winter months, students are building strong musical foundations — and we’re beginning to see that growth shine as we head into a very exciting spring season.
There is so much to celebrate!
🎸 Now Offering Guitar Lessons!
We’re excited to officially share that our studio is now offering guitar lessons!
Whether your child is interested in acoustic, foundational technique, or exploring new musical styles, guitar is a wonderful complement to our piano program.

📝 Theory Test Celebration 🎉
Several of our students recently completed their theory assessments — and they did an incredible job.
Music theory strengthens sight reading, rhythm accuracy, and overall musical understanding. It’s one of the ways we ensure students aren’t just learning songs, but truly becoming well-rounded musicians.
We are so proud of their preparation, focus, and hard work!

Way to go, Musicians!
🌸 Federated Spring Festival – March
We are also actively preparing select students for the Federated Spring Festival next month, Saturday, March 14th. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to:
• Perform for an adjudicator
• Receive written musical feedback
• Set meaningful performance goals
• Grow in confidence and poise
We are excited to see their dedication come together in March!

🎹 Spring Recital – May
Spring recital preparation has officially begun as well. May will be here before we know it!
Recitals give students the chance to:
• Celebrate their progress
• Share music with family and friends
• Build confidence in a supportive setting
More details will be shared soon — it’s going to be a meaningful celebration of growth, taking place on Friday, May 1st at 6:30pm.
☀️ Summer Lesson Reminders
As we look ahead to summer camps and vacations, we want to share a quick reminder about how lessons operate during the summer months.
Our studio maintains consistent, year-round enrollment — including summer — because steady lessons are what keep progress strong and confidence growing.
We completely understand that travel and camps are part of summer! To support families while maintaining consistency, we offer several flexible make-up options when advance notice is given:
Summer Make-Up Options:
- Group Makeup Lesson – Sign up for one of our scheduled group sessions. Simply contact us.
- Zoom Lesson – Attend your lesson virtually at your scheduled time.
- Pre-Recorded Video Lesson – Request a personalized video lesson at least 72 hours before your missed lesson.
- Sublease Your Lesson Time – Offer your reserved spot to a friend or family member!
- Video Submission Review – Send a video of your assignments prior to your lesson time, and your teacher will review it and provide feedback along with the next steps.
If you already know your summer travel dates, we encourage you to communicate early so we can help you make a plan.
Summer consistency truly makes a noticeable difference when students return in the fall — and we love seeing that momentum carry forward.
